Paul’s Blog – June 17, 2023

On Saturday, June 17, the Museum broke out the Patriot and the caboose train to help celebrate Father’s Day. Volunteers Ron Roach, John McDowell, Dwight Maxey, Kendall Crouch, Colin Mellin, Justin Cesar, Bryan Tong and Paul Brown served as the crew to help our visitors enjoy a sunny morning, taking a ride on the train. We had a couple of large groups who made the trek from the Denver area to learn a little more about Colorado Railroad history. We had a total of 56 people ride the train, but we lost the last scheduled hour due to rain moving in. Steel City Cafe provided a food truck with a great selection of food, and there were a number of visitors lined up to sample that!

I have included a few pictures of the equipment and action today. Mark your calendars for our next event on July 4th!
