On Saturday, November 23, volunteers Dwight Maxey, Colin Mellin, Bruce Davis, Chris Traficante and Paul Brown did some of the most important work that is done at the Museum, cleaning the blown in weeds from under the equipment in the display area. We do this work a few times a year so the Museum doesn’t look like a garbage dump! The group spent a couple of hours stuffing the weeds into the back of our pickup truck, and then called a lunch break.
After lunch, we were able to do other work on the C&W Caboose, which included sealing some windows and some wiring for lighting. The crew also cleaned some batteries that we are hoping to use in our U.S. Army Crane. The temperatures were nice and it was a great day to spend time around the trains!
I have included a few pictures showing the work done today.
