Paul’s Blog – November 8, 2025

On Saturday, November 8, volunteers Dwight, Colin, Bruce, Jerod, Polly, Dannis, Nick and Paul started today’s work checking our main running track for loose spikes and joint bolts. Work continued to remove a switch guard rail that is no longer needed, and cleaning up some junk material along the track. The crew then moved over to the shop lead tracks to check spikes and joint bolts before taking a lunch break.

After lunch, the crew did some more work on one of the switches on the lead tracks. A connecting rod on the switch points needed to be straightened and reinstalled, and then some adjustments were made to enable the points to be thrown. There will be some more work done here as we build out a couple of additional spurs. The day concluded with putting the tools away in their proper location and cleaning up.

I have included a few pictures of today’s work. If you are not able to see the pictures, click here to go to our Blog Page.
