Paul’s Blog – March 6, 2021

We had a small crew come out to work on Saturday, March 6. Dwight Maxey, Kendall Crouch, Colin Mellin and Paul Brown continued work to remove spikes and tie plates from a pile of usable older ties we have in the Shop Yard. We had to start the day removing some better ties that were mistakenly stacked on top of the ties we worked on previously. Once those were relocated we were able to concentrate on finishing the clean up of the remaining ties. Member Reid Adams even sneaked in to help later in the afternoon. Paul cleaned up a bit of the ground where our new Main Line track is to be built, and also rearranged the the pallets of sorted materials to place them close to the future work site.

With the longer days now, there was even a bit of time to catch some rail activity at the end of the day. I have included pictures below to illustrate the work we did. We’ll be watching next week to see if the weather remains good enough to organize a work day.
