On Saturday, July 9, a small crew from the PRM and a couple of mechanics from the Kentucky Steam Heritage Corporation braved near 100 degree temperatures to make a swap of the air compressors on Engine 2912. This swap was arranged earlier this year to assist the Kentucky group with their restoration of Chesapeake & Ohio 2716. They swapped their used pumps for the rebuilt units that were on 2912. The PRM felt that since 2912 will remain a static display only, then we should help another group who is working to get their locomotive back to running condition.
I have included a few pictures to illustrate the work done today.
