Paul’s Blog – July 4, 2022

On Monday, July 4, the volunteers came out to support the 4th of July train ride event. Ron Roach, Dwight Maxey, Colin Mellin, Kendall Crouch, Reid Adams, Tyler Seeley, Tanner Seeley and Paul Brown were the crew and ticket and platform agents. Due to some intense advertising spearheaded by Reid Adams, we had a very good turn out of customers, with folks arriving throughout the event time of 9am to 1pm. It seemed to the crew that we had a lot of new visitors also! This event also included a free cup of ice cream and a bottle of water for all who rode and wanted one.

We also had some special guests visit the event, Bill and Carol Byers, and Petar and Shirley Sredojevic, long time members of the museum, who were on hand to enjoy the activities. After the event closed up, the train crew spent a bit of time with the train consist, checking some issues on the track leading to the shop before putting the equipment away for the day.

I have included a few pictures taken early in the day as we got busy enough to preclude getting any more pictures. A good day indeed!
